Hand Tools (Plumb Bobs, Knives and Pipe Cutters) in Zamak and Magnesium
The manufacture of hand tool components through Zamak and magnesium die casting enables the production of parts for applications such as pipe cutters, fixed-blade knives, retractable knives and plumb bobs.
For these applications, Gurelan uses Zamak 5 and AZ91D magnesium, two alloys that allow components to be manufactured using a hot-chamber die casting process. Ease of manufacturing and cost are two of the main reasons for using these materials in the hand tool industry.
Gurelan´s manufacturing process includes die casting and deburring, adapting to the production requirements of each project.
