Gurelan was present at the IBERIAN CASTING CONGRESS meeting

With the purpose of establishing a space to encourage personal contacts between the members of our community, the Iberian Foundry Congress facilitated the meeting and provided a platform for the discussion of relevant topics for the foundry industry.

Gurelan was present at the IBERIAN CASTING CONGRESS meeting

From noon on Thursday 30 November until noon on 1 December, at the Hotel Silken Puerta Madrid, we were immersed in a packed programme of presentations addressing the challenges facing our sector and panels of experts sharing their concerns on various issues currently impacting our industry.

In parallel, there was a cosy exhibition area called "face to face," where suppliers had the opportunity to showcase their latest developments and share experiences with potential customers during breaks and coffee breaks in the same room.

On the second day of the congress, we started with the relevant topic of attracting and retaining talent in the foundry sector.

Helena Oliveira gave the first presentation, explaining the work carried out at the CINFU-Centro de Formação Profissional da Indústria de Fundição. This was followed by a panel of experts composed by Clotilde Teson, Olga Dasgoas, Xabier Chamorro and Gonzalo Serrats, where the challenges and future opportunities in the field of talent in foundries were discussed. Aitor Ballestero Barrutia then gave us insights into trends in the railway sector, a key client sector for foundries.

Finally, the focus of the day was on energy, an issue of concern for companies. Two presentations addressed this topic, the first by Ramón López and Juan Antonio Martínez, followed by the second by Ignacio Soneira.

It was a pleasure to attend and be part of this enriching and meaningful event. We look forward to future opportunities for collaboration and learning.
